Health Sciences

With more than 8,000 students, FH Campus Wien is the largest university of applied sciences in Austria. The departments of Applied Nursing Science, Applied Life Sciences, Building and Design, Health Sciences, Social Work, Engineering as well as Administration, Economics, Security, Politics  offer a choice of more than 60 part-time and full-time bachelor’s and master’s degree programs as well as master’s courses.
One of the full-time bachelor´s being offered is physiotherapy. It focuses on the ability to move, all the systems that affect these abilities and the interaction between sensory and motor controls. Physiotherapy comprises an important part of health care in virtually every medical field and is based on the medical sciences. It is used in health promotion and prevention, therapy and rehabilitation as well as in palliation and hospice facilities. The degree program combines theoretical fundamentals of physiotherapy and medicine with practical therapeutic subjects.

The FH Campus Wien is the first Austrian university to offer a part-time Bachelor's degree program in physiotherapy, which started in 2023. The lectures are held in blocks in the evening or on weekends, so that studying and working can be combined much better. The part-time program includes the same theoretical and practical lectures as well as practical learning phases as the six-semester full-time program. This means that you will acquire the professional qualification of a physiotherapist.
